Tutorial Video:

  • Unequipping and re-equipping a weapon shortly before moving gives you a 1 frame boost.

Used For:

  • Sneaking No Weapon 03
  • Sneaking No Weapon 05
  • Sneaking No Weapon 08

Tutorial Video:

  • Generally, input buffering is used to get cleaner lines, however it can mess with a guard's vision. Tap R2 or L2 repeatedly.

Used For:

  • Sneaking No Weapon 04
  • Special 1 Min. Battle VS. Target No Weapon

Tutorial Video:

  • Tapping X shortly after Snake performs a kick will cancel it the full animation of it.

Used For:

  • Any level where the goal appears before Snake gets there.

Tutorial Video:

  • Leaning into the goal is 7 frames faster than running into it with no weapon. Turn 90 degrees, go into first person view, and tap either R1 or L1 to lean.
  • FPV Leaning allows you to enter goals earlier than if you ran into it as normal, video discussion here
  • You can save up to 7 'ticks' of the in game timer
  • How much it saves depends on the length of a tick in a given stage, the maximum so far is 0.25.

Setup:

-Run towards the goal
-Turn when you are ~1 meter away, so you are parallel to the goal
-Press and hold triangle
-Immediately after the triangle input (but not at the same time) lean to the left or right with L1 or R1
-Be careful, as equipping/unequipping an item/weapon can mess with this

Used For:

  • Sneaking No Weapon 15
  • Special NG Selection 02

Tutorial Video:

  • Equipping an item or weapon can cancel the animation of throwing a guard.
